Services

Alaska WorkSource provides vocational training, job skills, character development, life skills on-the-job training, and case management to those individuals with a history of homelessness, incarceration and alcohol/drug addiction. Modeled after some of the nation’s leading transitional work programs, AWS uses job training, paid transitional work and personalized mentorship to catapult individuals into the workforce and out of cycles of homelessness, crime, and addiction.

AWS trains and equips each individual with the tools that will allow them to redirect their lives in a positive direction and become productive citizens. Our central focus is to integrate skilled individuals into the Alaskan workforce.

Backed by our Behavior Health Services Tután, our behavior health professionals of today continue to develop innovative evidence-based service models to serve the disconnected and socially disadvantaged persons re-entering society after periods of incarceration or homelessness. Our unique partnerships within local communities represents one of Alaska’s best opportunities to engage citizens in the a process of offering acceptance, service and guidance to formerly incarcerated citizens. These efforts, not only provide life-changing benefits for the formerly incarcerated, but also make a direct impact on the health and vitality of the local community.

Seasoned Alaskan contractors provide vocational training in the construction trades, project management, marketing and sales, and building maintenance. Alaska WorkSource also provides high level job retention curriculum, intensive life skill training, and drug and alcohol programs designed to deal with personal behavior and accountability. 

Our staff at Alaska WorkSource understand that our main job is to give hope, motivate, encourage, lift-up, and validate accomplishments. We build life-long relationships with our participants.

Orientation
The main purpose of the AWS orientation is to provide hope to those who are serious about changing their lives. We provide specific program/service information and begin building a relationship with each participant.

Outpatient Treatment

Our nationally accredited substance abuse treatment uses evidence/faith based, CBT approaches. We involve the whole family in the recovery process. We have over 50 years of clinical experience working with diverse clientele.
